Mr. Bratcher comes from Missouri with a very strong background in band/music education. He received his Bachelors of Science in Music Education degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia and has taught in public schools in MO and NM. After moving to New Mexico in 2002, Mr. Bratcher believes God helped him find his way to the Mid-Rio Grande Homeschool Band and he has been the director since the fall of 2003.  Since that time, the group has grown from two to four levels of bands and three levels of guitar in three rehearsal locations, plus classes for young instrumentalists. Besides teaching the homeschool band, Mr. Bratcher also teaches instruments privately, is a regular teacher at Hummingbird Music Camp, and has performed with the Rio Rancho Symphonic Band, Valencia County Community Band, and High Desert Brass. He is a member of NAfME, NMMEA and is a strong advocate for the importance of music education. Mr. Bratcher is also the owner of Salpizo Music which specializes in wind instrument repair. Outside of class, Mr. Bratcher loves life with his wife, Nicole, and children, Sam and Charlotte, as well as serving the Lord as a member and deacon at Netherwood Park church of Christ.
